ST. SOMEWHERE Specifications

Manufacturer Description

Traditional beauty and the most sophisticated of technological amenities are two of the winning attributes that have made the Grand Banks 42 Classic such an industry icon. Without a doubt, Grand Banks' consistent commitment to evolutionary design kept this model at the top of the charts in terms of dependability and resale value. The built-in comfort and convenience of the Grand Banks 42 Classic adds to its reputation. For trips both short and long, most find its roomy sleeping, bathing, and galley accommodations a treat. Even the engine room is roomy enough for all the essentials, plus a few "big trip" extras. Any way you look at it, the 42 Classic is an exceptional craft that holds its value and delivers top performance.

Walkthrough

ST. SOMEWHERE offers generously wide walk around decks and a custom designed gel-coated transom, rather than teak. This gives her a clean, more modern look (with far less exterior maintenance), while maintaining the unmistakable, timeless Grand Banks presence.

The flybridge is outfitted with a custom upper helm station featuring an angled face (to flush mount larger electronics), upgraded stainless steel rimmed steering wheel, two (2) Pompanette helmseats (new in 2017) and custom guest seating with teak table and settees to both port and starboard.  A new extended Toast Bimini was installed Winter 2021, and the flybridge enclosure was replaced with EZ2CY in 2023 with a rigid forward panel that pins up easily rather than rolling tough plastic.  The upgraded mast has an electric boom winch (new Winter 2022) to make for easy launching of the 2016 model Highfield UL310 tender with aluminum bottom dinghy, powered by a 2019 9.9hp Yamaha outboard engine.

Enter the salon area from either port or starboard doors to find the exceptional joinery known by Grand Banks' enthusiasts, a wonderful satin finish teak interior, teak and holly sole, upgraded LED interior lighting, Corian countertops and other features found on more current Grand Banks models. The salon offers an L-settee to starboard with custom varnished teak table with fold-out leaves and maple inlays, teak bar with bottle storage, additional settee and entertainment center to port with Samsung 28" LCD TV, Fusion UD-650 Stereo with Bluetooth and there are Poseidon 1" bottom-up wooden window blinds (new May 2018).

The lower helm station with full instrumentation and helmseat reupholstered in Ultraleather is forward to starboard. The custom L-shaped galley is to port, opposite the lower helm station, and provides an abundance of refrigerator, freezer, countertop and storage capacity.

The private master stateroom is aft with an en suite private head with separate shower, queen Island berth, desk/vanity and ample drawer and hanging locker storage. The guest stateroom is forward and offers a V-berth, plenty of drawer and locker storage, en suite private head and houses a custom installed, combination vented washer and dryer.

The engine room is well thought out and provides ample space to access the machinery for maintenance. Dependable Cummins 450 HP engines easily plane this boat yet are very economical for hull speed cruising.
