ISLAND PACKET 350 ‘KATYDID’ 2000
That Island Packet produced more than 180 of these vessels from hull# 1 in 1997 to the end of the model run in 2004, is testament to the popularity and success of this iconic sailboat. The IP 350 was the culmination of the mid-thirties designs from the designer Bob Johnson. It retained the signature hull, rudder and keel, as well as the cutter rig. However, it added a swim platform, athwartship aft cabin, improved sail handling including a Hoyt Staysail Boom. The teak handrails were replaced with stainlless steel and teak trim was replaced with stainless steel. Katydid has a new fiberglass waste tank, and reverse cycle air conditioning/heat.
