1974 Grand Banks 42 Classic
This Port Townsend, WA based Grand Banks 42, ‘Scout’, has had significant upgrades throughout the current ownership which has transformed the boat from a Puget Sound and Desolation Sound boat into an Alaska cruiser! ‘Scout’ has been diligently maintained inside and out and all major upgrades were done by professional marine tradespeople in Port Townsend (PT Shipwrights Co-op), Seattle and Bellingham.
‘Scout’ has Fore and Aft Cabins, Two Heads with Showers and a Bathtub in the Aft Head, a large Main Salon, Full Galley, Flybridge and Wheel House Steering Station with 360 degree visibility. The Walk Around Teak Decks are in great condition, well maintained and offer sturdy varnished Hand Rails and Hand Holds for safely moving about the vessel at the dock or underway. The large Fly Bridge offers lots of seating (New Upholstery), a Steering Station and great visibility in all directions for operating, spotting wildlife or relaxing at the Teak Table while at Anchor.
‘Scout’ is powered by twin Ford Lehman 120HP Diesel Engines (See 'More Details' for engine details and upgrades). ‘Scout’ carries 640 Gallons of Fuel, only burns 2.5 Gallons/Hour (travelling at 8-9 knots) for a range of over 2000 miles! The Mid-Fuel Tanks were recently inspected, cleaned and sealed professionally and also were modified with large access ports.
